"Crocus" Painting #12

2011© Gretchen Bjornson

Crocus are said to symbolize cheerfulness and gladness.  Being one of the first flowers to push through the dirt (and sometimes snow) at the onset of spring, I know I will be cheerful and glad that winter is coming to an end.

So here is another painting to get you in the mood for the upcoming spring season!

  1. I am looking forward to the bulbs coming through this spring, it won't be long, I saw the Burpee seed stand hiding behind the Valentines cards at the grocery store, Spring can't be far behind!
This painting is wonderful and we are nearing the half way mark.....

  2. WOW what a beautiful composition. The colors, the background. It just pops.
    Love it.

  3. They are beautiful!
They brighten up the rainy day we have here.

  4. Really cheerful painting. Fabulous.

  5. Maria...I drool over those seed stands. I can't wait for planting season!

Thank you Dors. I love using this color combination.

Thank you Kathryn and Judy. Glad they could brighten your rainy day.

    AK...thank you!

  6. Just enough water and paint... beautiful. I am inspired.

  7. Beautiful! They are always the first to l et us know that winter is at an end. :-)

  8. Beautiful painting! The crocus in my garden have come up , yellow, purple, white - lovely, so i guess winter soon will be only a memory.

  9. Jane....I'm always wishing I'd planted some crocus about this time of year.
