I strive for this, too. It is a lesson from my painting idol, Andrew Wyeth. Ambitious and perfect!RoseAnn Hayeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07667077447853880750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5885956111156401187.post-9251409145563355752010-07-16T04:31:55.855-04:002010-07-16T04:31:55.855-04:00Hi Gretchen - found you through Rhonda's blog ...Hi Gretchen - found you through Rhonda's blog and her discussion about 'when to finish - leave impressionist or add detail'. Your sunflower painting to me is delightful and I love the unfinished areas. The more detailed flower heads tell me the viewer what its all about and I can enjoy roaming into the impressionist spaces. A great mix giving mystery and interest. So my vote is ' leave it well alone'.Joan Sandford-Cookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04228835690449964257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5885956111156401187.post-7844078559477540082010-07-15T17:06:15.950-04:002010-07-15T17:06:15.950-04:00Thank you for your comments. Your painting reminds me of that wonderful sunny day."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5885956111156401187.post-8837369712996209712010-07-13T12:45:20.687-04:002010-07-13T12:45:20.687-04:00I love your work, Gretchen! So, my vote is no, it's not finished.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
